Marks Gate Community and Family Hub is a Barking and Dagenham council hall in Chadwell Heath. Its Main Hall seats 110 people for dining, which leaves plenty of scope for a family party, and you can add an extra room if you need a separate space for food or quieter activities.
A Saturday in the Main Hall is priced at £195 for the first 4 hours, then £40 an hour. Insurance adds another 10%, and you pay a £150 deposit. Adding the second room is £27.50 an hour. If the ceiling is under 10ft, the three lowest options at the top of the table are worth a look. You can use Soft Play or Ball Pits whatever the height. Larger items, such as adult castles and the disco dome, go up to 16ft, so ask first.
A second room can make a party much easier to run. You could set out food there while children use the castle in the Main Hall, or keep toddlers in a soft play area away from older children. It is a modest extra cost for a calmer party.
