Families in Springfield, Chelmsford, can look to the parish council's centre on St Augustine's Way for a children's party. Several rooms can be hired, and the Boleyn Room is the one most parties use: 7m by 12m (23ft by 39ft), with space for around 50 guests and a small kitchen and toilets of its own.
Getting Consent for a Bouncy Castle
A bouncy castle will fit in the Boleyn Room, according to the centre, but its hire terms set two conditions. You need the Parish Clerk's agreement before bringing an inflatable indoors, and the equipment must hold a PIPA safety certificate. Room Prices and Deposit
When last checked, weekday hire of the Boleyn Room was £15 an hour. Weekend daytimes (8am to 5pm) were £20 and weekend evenings £25. Bowers Hall, the larger room, takes 150 people at tables or 180 on their feet, and was £20, £35 and £45 for those periods. Expect to pay a £100 damage deposit, which is refundable. Residents and charities can claim a 10% discount, though not on a Saturday evening.
Things to Plan For
Supervision matters here: with under-12s, plan on about one adult to every 5 or 6 children. Centre staff also want to look over the castle when it arrives, at the beginning of your hire, which means our setup has to fall within the hours you book.
